My Journey to Passing the Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) Practical V12 Exam on My First Attempt!
Hello, everyone! I’m Nizar Amri, someone who has turned his passion for cybersecurity and penetration testing into a career. Some time ago, I was on the hunt for a certification in this field and came across two popular options: the CEH|P and the OSCP.
The OSCP certification came with a hefty price tag, so I decided to opt for the CEH|P, not just because it was more affordable, but also because it piqued my interest. After taking a closer look at the CEH|P certification outline on the EC-Council website, I discovered that the exam was open-book, allowing access to the internet. Additionally, the exam had a duration of 6 hours during which candidates needed to solve challenges related to the certification outline.
Feeling confident due to my prior experiences, including playing CTFs and working with VulnHub machines during my high school years just for fun, I made an unconventional decision. I chose to take the CEH|P certification exam without any formal preparation, such as using the iLabs .
The real challenge was finding the right day and time to take the exam. Finally, the day of the exam arrived. It was in the morning, and surprisingly, I felt no stress. It felt similar to a typical CTF challenge.
The exam process involved several steps. First, I contacted the proctor and engaged in a video call for the duration of the exam. I had to provide my ID card and show them the room I was in.
After the intense 6-hour exam period, I found myself pleasantly surprised. I had successfully completed the exam and earned my certification.
